Things to know before applying for funding

  1. The 3rd party accepting donations from Haleon?must be a legally registered entity or organization. Haleon does not provide funding to individuals or hospitals.

  2. Please ensure that the funding requested by your honorable institution is for a legitimate and lawful purpose, aligns with Haleon objectives (as displayed on the home page under areas of focus), and has no direct relation to commercial interest exchange.

  3. The funding project proposal must be detailed and clear. Each activity must be detailed in the budget breakdown. No entertainment or recreational expenditures should be included.  If a third party is affiliated with an agency subordinate to the National Health Commission of the PRC, the budget shall not include expenditures for management fees and staff salary & benefits.

  4. If you are seeking funding for a medical education program, it must be approved by the National Health Commission. The project shall be entirely evidence-based, and scientifically accurate, and educational/quality/professional practice gaps have been clearly identified.

  5. Funding granted or donated by Haleon shall not exceed 25% of your honorable institution’s total annual revenue, except for patient groups with rare diseases, and start-up patient groups. In these exceptions, the funding amount can be accepted up to 50% of total revenue in a calendar year.

  6. Your honorable institution can provide a legitimate grant invoices or receipts of all donations received. Your organization accepts Haleon’s assessment right over grants, including the right of access to financial books. This may involve your organization being interviewed and providing supporting documents regarding usage of Haleon funds, including supporting documents retained by sub-recipients. Your organization accepts Haleon’s right to assess the status and compliance of historical contract performance by the 3rd party if it has received Haleon’s grants previously. Haleon will keep all the information obtained confidential.

  7. Your organization agrees to provide supporting documents and periodic reports to Haleon business owners in relation to the fund utilization associated with progress of underlying activities during the course of project, including notifying Haleon any significant change of nature/scope or amount of itemized budget on an ad-hoc basis for continuous assessment of expenditures relevancy to grant purpose.

  8. Your organization agrees to provide supporting documents and periodic reports to Haleon business owners in relation to the fund utilization associated with progress of underlying activities during the course of project, including notifying Haleon any significant change of nature/scope or amount of itemized budget on an ad-hoc basis for continuous assessment of expenditures relevancy to grant purpose.

  9. Your organization has established or is willing to establish policies to define scope, standard and authorization of fund utilization, especially regarding the transfer of value to HCP and GO.

Application process

Step 1: Read the ‘Things to know before applying for funding’, to ensure that your honorable institution meets all criteria for applying.

Step 2: Click the "Register" button at the top right of this portal. After successfully completing registration and login, formally submit your application on the corresponding application interface.

Step 3: Once Haleon has received your online application for funding, the assigned contact person for funding will be in touch to conduct a preliminary assessment of your eligibility. If you communicated with the assigned contact person prior to submitting the application, and he or she has already confirmed your eligibility, this step will be omitted.

Step 4: Once the eligibility of your honorable institution has been confirmed in the preliminary assessment, the person in charge - the assigned contact person for funding - will communicate with you directly to collect more supporting information of the grant or donation for further assessment.

Step 5: Haleon Grant Donation Committee (GDC) will conduct a review and assessment, then makes a decision of approval or rejection.

Step 6: If the grant or donation is approved by Haleon Grant Donation Committee (GDC), an agreement will be signed between your organization and Haleon.

Step 7: Haleon pays in accordance with the formal agreement.

Step 8: While the project is underway, the Haleon funding representative ensures project monitoring and review of your organization’s use of the grant or donation.
